Presents for Procrastinators

I'll be selling my little magnet guys, prints, wallets, paintings, catnip toys etc. here this weekend, again sharing a table with Allie Tiedeman. Allie has handmade cold-process soap, hand-crocheted washcloths and perfume solids.

On December 18, 2010 from 11am-5pm, ART DEPARTMENT presents its inaugural Presents for Procrastinators” Artisan Holiday Market event.

ART DEPARTMENT 1315 SE 9th Avenue in Portland
For one day only, the ART DEPARTMENT warehouse will transform into a bustling local marketplace. From intricate handmade jewelry and baubles to fabulous clothing from emerging designers, and from collections of modified vintage treasures to gorgeous illustrations, the market has an item for even the toughest person on your shopping list. It’s an event designed to unite art and local commerce, while offering a place for crafters to network and build community. It’s also a great chance for attendees to support our vibrant local economy.

Domo Dogs will be onsite, vending their delicious Japanese-fusion hot dogs, and wine tastings will be offered to adults by Hip Chicks Do Wine, who will also be selling bottles of their locally-made wine. In case you get thirsty, Captured by Porches will also be pouring their delicious craft beer to grown-ups throughout the afternoon. Post-shopping sugar rushes will be provided by Miss Zumstein Cakes and Desserts, who will be sampling treats and taking holiday orders.

So I opened my Etsy shop a little over a year ago now, and I honestly don't know why it's taken me this long to announce it here. I guess I was waiting until I had it entirely stocked before I "officially" announced it, but while it's mostly stocked at this point, I finally realized I will never have it entirely stocked. Unless I stopped making things. Which would be stupid.

Also, I finally have a printer with which I can make archival prints, so I've started making and listing prints of my paintings. There will be more of those listings trickling in over the next few months, but if there's a painting that you'd like to see a print of, let me know!

Almost all of my original art is listed there, except for the pieces that are for sale at the Bad Apple. Which, if you're in Portland, you should definitely go to, no matter what. To make it even better, Guapo is right next door.

How am I supposed to go to SPX?

Two Things:

1. I'll be at SPX this weekend (despite the cats' best efforts) sharing a table with a whole bunch of people. I don't think they have an exhibitor map on their site, but look for Julia Wertz's table; that's where I'll be. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 11 and 12.

2. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to post about the art opening, but I have a couple pieces in a show and book called Bound and Gagged. Cartoonists and other types of artists doing gag panels. I assume the show is up for the rest of the month. It's in Los Angeles.
