APE 2009

I’m getting ready for APE this weekend at the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco. I’ll be signing Mome at the Fantagraphics tables (323-327) on Saturday from 5 pm - 7 pm and Sunday from 3 pm - 5 pm. The rest of the time I will be at a sliver of table space in the Sparkplug compound, tables 360-362.

The most exciting thing is that I will have wallets again! After 5 years, I finally got a new sewing machine and have been making wallets and other items using images from my artwork. I will also have some stuffed bunny guys and octopus dolls, as well as some small drawings and paintings for sale, and probably some of the wall sculpture heads.

The Bad Apple

I have some art up at the Bad Apple, a magical and exciting store run by Dylan Williams and Tim Goodyear. They sell obscure books and videos and work by local artists, among other things.

My Japanese mythology paintings (from MOME 15) are for sale there, as well as a collection of bird paintings from various shows.

If you’re in Portland and you want to buy some of my artwork, that is the place to go. You should check out the store anyway, though. It’s at 6340 SE Foster Road, just 2 doors down from Guapo.

The Comix Claptrap

Jesse and I were interviewed together on the Comix Claptrap podcast. The episode is available now. You can subscribe to this podcast through iTunes. I can't remember how I did it, but I know it's possible. I recommend listening to it (and all the episodes) with headphones, because otherwise Thien is too loud and Rina is too quiet.
